‘Preserve our environment’ - HWAG

Approximately 100 concerned people of all walks of life accepted the Hartbeespoort Water Action Group’s (HWAG) invitation and attended a public meeting in Schoemansville on Saturday.
The meeting, chaired by Rick van Rossum, Chief Executive Officer of the group, was also attended by guest speakers who discussed environmental threats, remedation proposals and solutions. The speakers included Dr Anthony Turton, Marietta Liefferink, Frikkie Botha and Dirk Bouwer. The latter are both from HWAG.

Plans to upgrade dump site after another fire

The council of the Local Municipality of Madibeng recently resolved to upgrade the waste dump site in De Kroon. They expressed that with input from fire safety that this will solve the problem of regular fires at the dump site. Read more ...

 

England-Belgium walk raises funds for local projects

Three members of the Brits-Hartbeespoort Rotary Club recently joined members of the Rotary Club in Colchester, England for a six day walk from Colchester to Brussels in Belgium to raise funds for the local club’s projects. The funds raised were more than £10 000 and R13 000 and is being used for the Brits-Hartbeespoort Rotary Club’s ‘Childhood Development’ projects.
